We’ve had the privilege of meeting some fascinating women leading the tech crusade lately, & today, we have another story to share with you.
Raised in a household of high-achieving professionals, Yousra was instilled with an unwavering determination to succeed & make a positive impact.
So, she packed her bags to attend The American University in Cairo, to study economics, business, & political economy. Yousra poured her heart & soul into her academics. She was driven not only by her own ambitions but also by the desire to alleviate the financial burden on her parents.
And you know what? She did it. Through hard work & dedication, she earned a Category A Scholarship, proving to herself & everyone around her that she was capable of achieving greatness.🌟
Meet Yousra Gaballah, a woman who embarked on a transformative journey from Alexandria, Egypt to the bustling Bay Area.
Yousra’s thirst for knowledge led her to study abroad at UC Berkeley & the University of Washington, where she learned the value of hard work, building connections, & cherishing life’s ups & downs.
After graduation, she joined an Accelerator Management Program, where she gained a comprehensive understanding of the business world.
It was during this time that she discovered her true calling: solving complex growth challenges & helping businesses!
Yousra’s journey took her to Vodafone, where she joined the Customer Value Management team. She later took on the responsibility of managing the demand growth of Careem across multiple countries before being acquired by Uber.
But life had other plans for Yousra. The onset of the pandemic brought with it the worst phase of her life. Stuck at home, unable to check on her parents, & unexpectedly laid off from Careem, she found herself grappling with depression.
Yet, this difficult period became a catalyst for growth. She worked with startups on their strategies, spent quarantine by the beach, & even caught the attention of Amazon, who headhunted her for a regional logistics role.
Fascinated with the startup ecosystem, Yousra joined Khazenly – خزنلي to lead their expansion in Saudi Arabia, in parallel, mentoring other startups on their growth.
Seeking a fresh start, Yousra took a leap of faith & relocated to the Bay Area, where she continues to mentor startups & teach yoga, finding joy & meaning in sharing its transformative power.
Key learnings she embraced:
✨Focus on self-improvement rather than comparing yourself to others.
✨Make a positive impact & bring joy to others, while also recognising the need to distance yourself from toxic individuals who bring negativity into your life.
✨Strive for balance among various crucial aspects, such as spirituality, relationships, career, self-care, & social impact.
Yousra learned that life’s challenges are temporary, & better days are always on the horizon. Her journey reminds us that with determination & a positive outlook, we can overcome any obstacle & create a life filled with purpose.
